The Paul Harris Fellowship Award has been presented to Moira Beswick by the Rotary Club of Macclesfield Castle in recognition of the passion, dedication and tireless work by Moira to the local community and in particular The Rossendale Trust over a period of more than 35 years.

Rotarians have a tradition of supporting Rotary Foundation by honouring individuals who have made a significant contribution to the community with a Paul Harris Fellow Award, which is named after Paul Harris who was the founder of International Rotary in 1905. A contribution to the Rotary Foundation is an investment in the ideal of goodwill, peace and understanding.

The award for Moira was proposed by Club Rotarian Ken Newton as a “well deserved award for the hard work and dedication that Moira has shown over the years at The Rossendale Trust”, and was presented by President Mary Grant who said: “It is an honour and a great pleasure to present the Paul Harris Fellow Award to Moira as an expression of the appreciation of the local Rotary Club for the wonderful and sustained contribution she has made to the local community”.

Moira in reply said: “I am aware of this Award and the recognition it holds and I feel highly honoured and privileged to have been chosen to receive this.  My passion for the Trust and the high quality of care and activities that we provide for our tenants is phenomenal”.
