A WORK placement organised by The Rossendale Trust has put a spring in the step of Shemek?Plowiec.
He’s benefited from the Cheshire charity’s ‘WorkTaste’ programme which has seen him get an opportunity to work at Crag Spring Water in Wildboarclough.
The programme seeks to provide opportunities to people with learning disabilities to gain experience in the workplace and develop skills which can hopefully prepare them for paid employment.
Shemek’s placement has now become a permanent role at the bottled water company created by local businessman Doran Binder. Shemek works at the business two days a week.
Doran said: “I want to be able to employ as many people as possible who need a break in life.”
As Doran’s business continues to grow, the trust is delighted that he has agreed to provide two additional WorkTaste placements in 2021.
Doran said: “We are very excited about the new starters joining as we need their help and skills.”
The Rossendale Trust provides supported?living care to adults with learning and physical disabilities, in?purpose-built?apartments in Sutton and Macclesfield and houses in Buxton.
