Cheshire locals are being asked to share their photographs of their favourite views of the surrounding areas for a competition.

McCarthy Stone, the leading manager and developer of retirement communities behind the forthcoming The Cedars Retirement Living development in Malpas, Cheshire, is looking to capture some of the architecture and culture that can be found around every corner of the county, so it can be enjoyed by its new and prospective homeowners.

The competition aims to showcase photographs of scenery, wildlife and landscapes taken by budding photographers and members of the community that encapsulate their favourite views. These might be the famous views of the picturesque Sandstone Trail, or the scenic wildlife at the popular Anderton Nature Park. They could be 'best kept secrets' or even have a personal meaning.

Homeowners and the McCarthy Stone team at The Cedars Retirement Living development in Malpas will judge the competition entries, with the winning entrant receiving £250, as well as being unveiled in the development's Communal Lounge along with a commemorative plaque.

Fiona Brookes, Divisional Sales Director at McCarthy Stone, said: "The last two years have seen many of us rediscover the joys of walking and exploring the outdoors during the pandemic. For most this trend has continued, with walks remaining a part of people's weekly routines. Cheshire has so many breath-taking views and wonderful places to visit, and a walk in the Spring sun is the perfect opportunity to appreciate the landscapes and landmarks on our doorstep.

"We would like to encourage people in Cheshire to take their cameras or phones when they are on their walks, capture photographs of Cheshire in all its splendour and enter our competition."

Each entrant is permitted to submit a maximum of five photos. These should be emailed to mccarthyandstone@mccann.com by the closing date of Sunday 12th June 2022 with 'Cheshire Photo Contest' in the subject. In your email you should include your full name and a title for your photograph and where it was taken.

Open to all ages. Under 16s must ask an adult's permission. Please ask permission of anyone who appears in your photo.

The Cedars offers a choice of age exclusive apartments. The development benefits from a 24/7 call system and camera entry system, as well as a House Manager to provide that extra peace of mind when it comes to safety and security, along with a stylish communal lounge, hotel-style guest suite and landscaped gardens with unspoilt countryside views.

Located just 15 miles south of the historic city of Chester, Malpas is an affluent village and a wonderful place to live. The McCarthy Stone Retirement Living development is thoughtfully located, which means you're within walking distance to the local bakery, deli, and Co-op store. The development itself is home to a close-knit community, with just 8 one-bedroom and 15 two-bedroom apartments exclusively for those over 60.

Prices at The Cedars currently starts at £289,999 with flexible rental options also available.

More than nine out of 10 customers would recommend McCarthy Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation. McCarthy Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this rating every year we have taken part in the survey.
